About Ms. Jessy

I'm Ms. Jessy!

I’m an early childhood educator, graphic designer, and professional sillyhead. I’ve been working with kids since high school and have always loved hearing their perspectives and trying to see the world at their level.

I believe in the importance of play and whimsy. Both as a teacher and as a designer! Ms. Jessy’s Classroom began after college, when I was working in daycares and noticed how few well-designed, kid-friendly posters were out there. So many classroom posters use confusing fonts or illustrations that don’t actually help kids learn (like a weather poster with a windsock. What preschooler knows what that is?).

That’s why I started Ms. Jessy’s Classroom: a passion project that combines my love of design with my fascination for how kids think and learn. I want my posters to engage children and be pleasant for teachers to look at. Because when you spend all day in a classroom, the details matter!

When I’m not designing or teaching, I love spending time with friends, playing games, and hanging out with my pet lizard, Pebbles.
